SOP KM Deployment C4070 Machines Follow
Key Stakeholders
- Cruise Ship Partners: Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.
- Konica Minolta: Provides the C4070 machines, technical support, and training when applicable.
- IT Department: Manages network integration and driver deployment.
- Print Specialist Operators: Onboard crew responsible for operation, maintenance, and transition.
- DG3 and IT Support Teams: Coordinate on software, network issues, and meter readings.
Machine Ownership
- Owned by: Royal Caribbean Group
Konica Minolta's Role:
- Movers:
- Transport machines to the print shop (usually 2 movers + 1 tech).
- Move machines from the print shop to I95 staging area.
- Palletize and Shirk-wrap the old equipment.
- Technician:
- Disassemble the C3070 machines.
- Assemble the C4070 machines.
- Machine testing
IT Department's Role:
- IT Manager:
- Set up computers with drivers for the C4070 machines.
- Verify that machines are online (capture MAC address and add to the network).
- Create C3070 off-load LGA. Machine $ value to be provided by Royal Shoreside directly.
DG3 Department's Role:
- DG3 (Tech Support):
- Print driver / thumb drive provided for configuring computer to print.
- Driver can be found inside the machine for safe keeping
Print Specialist's Role:
- Pre-Removal:
- Remove paper from machine trays.
- Obtain CSV file and total counter for month-end process.
- Update OBP with data collected (meter count + CSV file upload).
- Ensure old C3070 machines have covers and missing parts reinstalled.
- Land heaters and old accessories with the retired machine.
- Communicate any changes in ship schedule.
- Landing LGAs are to handle by the IT Manager
- Provide thumb drive w/driver to IT Manager
DAY OF ARRIVAL
Print Specialist's Role:
- Security and Inventory Check:
- Ensure new machines are stored securely.
- Review all equipment based on Packing Slip/LGA/X1.
- Notify DG3 Support if anything is missing.
Day of Deployment
Print Specialist's Role:
- Coordination and Support:
- Coordinate early morning arrival of Konica technicians.
- Tech boarding request managed by Konica Minolta.
- Assist with the deployment process.
- Dispose of all garbage from deployment.
- Verify pre-deployment settings (account codes, machine trays, finishers, document feeders, scanner, duplex).
- Provide pictures of each old equipment palletized and secured

Risk Management Strategies
- Delay Contingency Protocols (Project Manager & Cruise Ship Partners): Should any delays occur in container shipments, it is critical that the C3070 machines remain connected and operational at all times without exception.
- Technical Issue Response Procedure (Konica Minolta & IT Support Teams): Upon encountering any post-deployment technical issues, the Print Specialist is required to promptly initiate contact with DG3 technical support for immediate assistance.
Post-Deployment Reviews (Print Specialist & IT Department)
- Installation Quality Checks: Inspect the physical installation and setup of new machines.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the machine's performance over the first few weeks, focusing on print volume, speed, and quality issues.
- User Feedback Collection: Collect and analyze feedback from users regarding the machine's usability, reliability, and overall performance, using surveys and direct feedback mechanisms.
Deployment Testing (Print Specialist)
- Print Quality Assessment: Conduct a series of print tests to assess color accuracy, print resolution, and alignment.
