Extra Crew Cabin Request (All Brands) Follow
The purpose of this SOP is to outline the procedures when requesting accommodation for a crewmember who is originally not part of the ship’s par level.
Scope
This SOP covers the steps of requesting an extra cabin. Below steps are to be followed by both Brands, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. The difference is in the Approval information only, which is the following:

Search for the ship and the date that your replacement will arrive and the date of your sign-off. Those dates will be the start and the end dates of the ECCR stay. Click SEARCH.
- After you click SEARCH button another dashboard will pop-up; click on CREATE REQUEST.
- After you click CREATE REQUEST another window will show which you need to click the specific start date and the end date. For example in my case - because my replacement will come on August 03 - so the Start date will be August 03 and the End Date will be my Sign-off date which is August 17th. After you choose the Start and End Date click CONTINUE.
- After you click CONTINUE the information dashboard appears. First you will choose purpose then type, select HANDOVER. Next is the description where you need to input name, ID# and date of birth of your replacement.
REQUESTED ON BEHALF OF: Please note, this is a system generated page and you cannot input anything on the section where it says you can only input the office phone number. After you need to find the Approver. Once you found the name of the approver click the name and the second approver will show; click CONTINUE.
CEL Approvers
For Celebrity ship ONLY:
Once the ECCR is created the request ID# is to sent to the Manager, People & Culture who will then email the request to shoreside.
No request will be approved or cabin assigned until written confirmation is received from shoreside.
RCG Approvers
- After you click Continue another page will load. You need to click POSITIONS on the bottom part.
- After you click the ADD POSITIONS BUTTON. Another page will load.
Check the box CHECK HERE TO ADD PASSENGER INFO.
Once this is done add the Employee ID instead and the information will populate.
If the incoming person is a newhire, then the signing off crewmember’s ID number should be added and in the comment section updated with the correct name, ID number and birthdate.
(For example: This booking is for Peter Printer, ID#123456, 08.01.1991.
Once the information shows click SAVE.
- After you click SAVE it will redirect you to the last step which is SUBMIT REQUEST. An email will be received that your request has been submitted.
Wait for couple of days for the approval as the system will generate an email informing the approver that an ECCR booking request has been submitted.
IMPORTANT:
Anybody approved for an Extra Crew Cabin is to read and follow the ECCR policy to be found in the database when preparing a request.
CM to check room availability before submitting ECCR request for approval. Note the submission will go through but if they're no ECCR room available, a guest will be assigned with a cost and might not be available.
For Celebrity ship ONLY:
Once the ECCR is created the request ID# is to sent to the Manager, People & Culture who will then email the request to shoreside.
