Grooming And Appearance Standards Follow
Employee grooming and dressing must appropriately reflect the Company’s commitment to professionalism. As a representative of the Company, all employees are always required to maintain a professional appearance consistent with this commitment. All employees must also comply with the cruise line/ship appearance and grooming standards both on and off duty. The higher standard, whether ship or Company, will always apply.
Rules in this regard are set forth below.
- All uniforms must be of the correct size, clean, pressed and in pristine condition daily.
- Name tags are a mandatory part of the uniform and must always be worn in the passenger areas whether or not the employee is on duty.
General Requirements
- Always wear a clean and fresh uniform each day, and wear body and underarm deodorant.
- Shower daily and avoid strong perfume.
- Gum chewing is not allowed in public.

- Visible tattoos are generally prohibited. On certain cruise lines, tattoos may be allowed; however, if this is so, the employee is required to abide strictly by the policy in place that relates to tattoos on his/her vessel.
Visible tattoos on the face and neck areas are never allowed. Offensive tattoos are never allowed. No new tattoos should be completed during the term of the contract. Before showing any tattoo, the employee is required to check with the ship appearance and grooming code to ensure full compliance. Please keep in mind that uniforms vary by cruise line. - As such, a tattoo that may be invisible when wearing one uniform may be visible from another, for those cruise lines which do not allow the display of any visible tattoo.

Male Employees
- Hair should be above the collar, clean, neat and well maintained.

- Men are to be clean shaven unless the vessel allows facial hair to be worn. Men must ensure they comply with ship policy on what is permissible in relation to beards, sideburns and/or mustaches which includes allowed length and styles. In general, no one is permitted to grow a mustache or beard during his contract term, therefore, an employee would be required to remain clean shaven.
