Classification

Main body: Fusing temperature sensor/2 wiring disconnection abnormality

Cause

The fusing unit becomes inactive because the door opens or closes when the machine starts warm-up or it is in the low power mode. Then, the AD value of the fusing temperature sensor/2 (TH2) changes abnormally within the specified period of time after the fusing unit becomes active again, and the wiring disconnection is detected.

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

• Printer control board (PRCB)
• Fusing heater lamp/2 (L2)
• Fusing heater lamp/3 (L3)
• Fusing temperature sensor/2 (TH2)
• Thermostat/2 (TS2)

• The message "Please call service" is displayed on the panel.

Solution

1. Check the connection between the rear side connector of the fusing unit and the main body side connector, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
2. Check the connector connections between TH2 and PRCB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality. (Wiring diagram: Main body (1/5): 8-H)
3. Check the conduction of TS2, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
4. Check the activation and deactivation by the installation condition of L2 and L3, or the IO Check (45-00), repair it when there is any abnormality. (Wiring diagram: Main body (1/5): 2-F, 2-G)
5. Note
   • The output check on the IO check mode has restrictive conditions. Check the IO check mode list before the output check.
5. Check the installation condition of the TH2 and the temperature of the IO Check (45-12) and others, and adjust it when there is any abnormality. (Wiring diagram: Main body (1/5): 3-H)
6. Replace TH2.
7. Replace TS2.
8. Replace the fusing heater lamp assy/Up.
9. Replace PRCB.
