Classification

Main body: Printer-related connectors unconnected (M)

Cause

Connection abnormality between the index board/M (INDEXB2) or the laser drive board/M (LDB2) and the image processing board (IPB).

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

• Image processing board (IPB)
• Writing unit/M

Correction

Deactivate and activate the sub power switch (SW2) of the main body.

Note

• The message "Please turn on power again" is displayed on the touch panel.

Solution

1. Prior check
   • Close the toner supply door properly.
   • Close the front door properly. (Check with the IO Check (25-00) of the front door sensor (PS31).)
2. Execute the IO Check (37-20).
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 3.
   • When the result is [Err1]: Replace IPB.
   • When the result is [Err2]: Go on to the step 4.
3. Check the connection condition between IPB and the writing unit.
   • Check the connector connection between IPB and LDB1, CN1100 of IPB, CN1814 of LDB1, and the wiring. Then, repair it when there is any abnormality.
   • Check the connector connection between IPB and LDB2, CN1200 of IPB, CN1813 of LDB2, and the wiring. Then, repair it when there is any abnormality.
   • Check the connector connection between IPB and LDB3, CN2100 of IPB, CN1812 of LDB3, and the wiring. Then, repair it when there is any abnormality.
   • Check the connector connection between IPB and LDB4, CN2200 of IPB, CN1811 of LDB4, and the wiring. Then, repair it when there is any abnormality.
4. Disconnect CN1814 of LDB1, CN1813 of LDB2, CN1812 of LDB3, and CN1811 of LDB4. Then, execute the IO Check (37-23).
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 5.
   • When the result is [Err]: Replace IPB.
5. Connect only CN1813 of LDB2. Then, execute the IO Check (37-26).
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 6.
   • When the result is [Err]: Replace the writing unit/M.
6. Disconnect CN1813 of LDB2, and then connect only CN1814 of LDB1. Then, execute the IO Check (37-26) again.
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 7.
   • When the result is [Err]: Replace the writing unit/Y.
7. Disconnect CN1814 of LDB1, and then connect only CN1812 of LDB3. Then, execute the IO Check (37-26) again.
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 8.
   • When the result is [Err]: Replace the writing unit/C.
8. Disconnect CN1812 of LDB3, and then connect only CN1811 of LDB4. Then, execute the IO Check (37-26) again.
   • When the result is [OK]: Go on to the step 9.
   • When the result is [Err]: Replace the writing unit/K.
9. Connect CN1814 of LDB1, CN1813 of LDB2, CN1812 of LDB3, and CN1811 of LDB4. Then, check CN1100, CN1200, CN2100, and CN2200 of IPB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
