Classification

Main body: Beam pitch abnormality (C)

Cause

• When the malfunction code occurs during the gamma auto adjustment operation: Color registration adjustment value abnormality.
• When the malfunction code occurs during the color registration auto adjustment operation: Polygon drive system abnormality, sensor system abnormality, or printer clock system abnormality.
• When the malfunction code occurs during the output operation: Non-volatile abnormality
• When the malfunction code occurs during the first printing after you changed the adjustment value of the Beam Pitch Adjustment: Adjustment value abnormality, writing unit abnormality.

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

Solution

<When abnormality occurs during the gamma auto adjustment operation>

1. Carry out the beam pitch adjustment.
2. Carry out the color registration auto adjustment.
3. Carry out the gamma auto adjustment.

<When abnormality occurs during the color registration auto adjustment operation>

1. Execute the IO Check (99-70) of the board self-diagnosis. Check the results of IPB and the writing unit/C (laser drive board/C (LDB3)).
   • When the result of IPB is NG: There is an abnormality in IPB or the connection. Go on to the step 5.
   • When the result of the writing unit/C is NG: There is an abnormality in LDB3 or the connection. Go on to the following steps.
2. Prior check
   • Close the toner supply door properly.
   • Close the front door properly. (Check with the IO Check (25-00) of the front door sensor (PS31).)
   • The color registration auto adjustment is completed normally.
3. Check the connector connection between IPB and LDB3, CN2100 of IPB, CN1812 of LDB3, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
4. Replace the writing unit/C.
5. Replace IPB.

<When abnormality occurs during the output operation>

1. Check the connector connection of NRB, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
2. Replace NRB.

<When the malfunction code occurs during the first printing after you changed the adjustment value of the Beam Pitch Adjustment>

1. When you input an inappropriate large value (example: +50, -100) to the Beam Pitch Adjustment: Configure the adjustment value of the Beam Pitch Adjustment to 0 once. Then, perform the Beam Pitch Adjustment again with the correct procedure (using the test chart).
2. When you input an appropriate value to the Beam Pitch Adjustment with the correct procedure (using the test chart): Replace the writing unit/C.
