Main body: PolyTOP detection abnormality (K)

Cause

During the image formation with the PolyTOP, a PolyTOP error is detected.

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

Estimated abnormal parts

• Writing unit/K
• Image processing board (IPB)
• Printer control board (PRCB)

Correction

Note

• The message "Please call service" is displayed on the panel.

Solution

1. Execute the IO Check (99-70) of the board self-diagnosis. Check the results of IPB and the writing unit/K (laser drive board/K (LDB4)).
   • When the result of IPB is NG: There is an abnormality in IPB or the connection. Go on to the step 6.
   • When the result of the writing unit/K is NG: There is an abnormality in LDB4 or the connection. Go on to the following steps.
2. Prior check
   • Close the toner supply door properly.
   • Close the front door properly. (Check with the IO Check (25-00) of the front door sensor (PS31).)
3. Check the connector connection between PRCB and the polygon motor/K (M23), CN130 of PRCB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
4. Check the connector connection between PRCB and IPB, CN153 of PRCB, CN5500 of IPB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
5. Replace the writing unit/K.
6. Replace IPB.
7. Replace PRCB.
