Classification

Main body: Exposure lamp abnormal lighting

Cause

When paper is passed from the DF: When the scan job is completed, it is detected that the average of the output value from the CIS sensor exceeds the standard value at the scanner standby position.

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

• CIS module (CIS)
• Image processing board (IPB)

Correction

Note

• The message "Please call service" is displayed on the panel.

Solution

1. Clean the CIS.
2. Clean the white reference side on the CIS side.
3. Perform the IO Check (99-70) and check if there is a problem with IPB.
   • When the results are abnormal, perform solution 4 and solution 6.
   • When the results are normal, perform following solutions other than solution 6.
4. Check the connector connection between CIS and IPB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
5. Replace CIS.
6. Replace IPB.
