Classification

Main body: Motor abnormality

Cause

During the pressing operation: Within a specified period of time after the fusing pressure release motor (M47) becomes active, the fusing pressure position sensor/2 (PS25) or the fusing pressure position sensor/3 (PS26) does not become active. During the release operation: Within a specified period of time after M47 becomes active, the fusing pressure position sensor/1 (PS24) does not become active.

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

• Printer control board (PRCB)
• Fusing pressure release motor (M47)
• Fusing pressure position sensor/1 (PS24)
• Fusing pressure position sensor/2 (PS25)
• Fusing pressure position sensor/3 (PS26)

Correction

Note

• The message "Please call service" is displayed on the panel.

Solution

1. Check that the front door is closed properly, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
2. Check the fusing unit, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
3. Check the fusing drive gear system, and repair it when there is any abnormality.
4. Check the connector connection between M47, PS24, PS25, PS26, and the PRCB, and the wiring. Then repair it when there is any abnormality.
5. Check the IO Check (47-05) and others of M47 and the coupling of the gear. Then repair it when there is any abnormality. (Wiring diagram: Main body (1/5): 3-M)
6. Check IO Check (47-05) of PS24, IO Check (47-06) of PS26, IO Check (47-07) of PS25 and the operation of PS24, PS25, PS26, and repair it when there is any abnormality. (Wiring diagram: Main body (1/5): 3-L, 3-M)
7. Replace PS24, PS25 and PS26.
8. Replace M47.
9. Replace PRCB.
