Classification

Main body: Intermediate transfer belt paper wrap abnormality

Cause

• When J-3102 or J-3104 occurs, the fusing loop sensor (PS23) never becomes active within the detection period.
• It will be displayed only when DipSW 174-1 is set to "0".

Measures to take when an alert occurs

The main body and the option stop immediately.

Correction

 

Note

• The message "Please call service" is displayed on the panel.

Solution

1. Prior check
   • Check that there is no remaining paper on the intermediate transfer belt.
2. Execute the IO Check (47-14) of the fusing loop sensor (PS23).
3. When the result of the IO Check in the step 2 is normal, PS23 is not abnormal.
4. For details of IO check results, refer to "Table 1: Result check."
4. Check the connector connection between the conveyance drive board (CDB) and PS23, CN167 of CDB, CN397 (relay connector), CN460 (fusing unit), CN414 of PS23, and the wiring. Then, repair it when there is any abnormality.
5. Replace PS23.
